We have been using Norton here at work for several years and are finally going to ditch it. The new version has created serious access issues over our network. It prevents us from accessing certain drives. To get around that problem we have to turn off features that we would prefer to have on. Our IT guy spent multiple hours on the phone with their tech support in India and they were unable to find a solution.
If you are using it for a stand alone computer it is probably fine, but if you are using it on a home network I would consider other products.

Both suck, Symantec sucks the most. Use AVG Free-Edition....

What kind of problems xj - I downloaded IE7 about a month ago and do not seem to have any problem - what should I be watching for? ThanksXtremeJibber2001 wrote:FYI ... all you users out there downloading IE7 ... becareful. I've already fixed three PC's from the havok of IE7.
Before downloading IE7 ... I suggest creating a new restore point.

Then you're lucky. I know IE7 has quite a few conflicts with programs like Norton, McAfee, Quickbooks, Quicken, etc.MrsG wrote:What kind of problems xj - I downloaded IE7 about a month ago and do not seem to have any problem - what should I be watching for? So far, I've had to uninstall IE7 completely and reinstall the applications mentioned above. It sounds like IE7 may overwrite some files these applications use, thus making them useless. In the interim, your internet connection usually goes caput.
