We have been using Norton here at work for several years and are finally going to ditch it. The new version has created serious access issues over our network. It prevents us from accessing certain drives. To get around that problem we have to turn off features that we would prefer to have on. Our IT guy spent multiple hours on the phone with their tech support in India and they were unable to find a solution.

If you are using it for a stand alone computer it is probably fine, but if you are using it on a home network I would consider other products.

BUT if you must remain a Microsoft slut, most of my PC friends use Mcafee, and they've had no problems. My GF uses it, and still got some virus' but she also downloaded a ton of stuff via limewire...

Both suck, Symantec sucks the most. Use AVG Free-Edition....

Then you're lucky. I know IE7 has quite a few conflicts with programs like Norton, McAfee, Quickbooks, Quicken, etc.

So far, I've had to uninstall IE7 completely and reinstall the applications mentioned above. It sounds like IE7 may overwrite some files these applications use, thus making them useless. In the interim, your internet connection usually goes caput.
