I just went to the ski shop that will remain nameless located somewhere in CT (why oh why gawd didn't I just bring them up to Basin!) carried my new boards outside to put on top of truck, Volkl Mantra's, brand spakin new, haven't used yet, paid $$$$ for them, look at the bases and the screws are close to poing through the base of one ski, look at the top sheet and can see where they capped a couple of holes and redrilled right next to the cap!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went back inside trying to control anger, they called the shop owner who is going to look at the skis make them skiable and order me a new ski.
Am I in the right to demand a new ski if they try to say that I can still ski on them??? I can't believe who much of a wimp/idiot the shop guy is to just put them out there like that?! Ughhhhhhhh!!!
kids being kids,,, bring it to a flat land shop, good idea man. sorry about your volkl's, you will need new ones for sure, better get them as there is no need to redrill holes if i is done right the first place.... ouch.

Hummm, screws almost poking threw the base, sounds like the tech forgot to place the mounting rizer plates on the toe, heel the first time they were mounted....
If they misdrilled your new skis they should(Will) replace them without any questions asked!
No need to bring them to ricks , din/iso/ominorm is the same no matter where you take them.
Geoff the sound a cat make as it coughs up a hairball.
Sounds like a place on Rt. 6 near Bristol I had do the same thing to, and someone else had the same problem, years ago. They replaced her skis. I didn't notice until I started tuning my own about a year later.
If they did the drill and mount, they owe you BIG TIME! And don't ski them, demand a loaner demo pair if they have them.

They destroyed your property, they are responsible to replace the skis for you. Although they may be "skiable", the bindings are not mounted correctly and may void all warrantees.
Also, if you paid for them with a credit card you may be able to claim it on that.
Can you atleast tell us what part of CT the shop is in so we can stay away from there?
