Parcells retires from coaching after 9-7 season
Associated Press

IRVING, Texas -- Bill Parcells retired from coaching Monday, leaving the Dallas Cowboys after four seasons and ending a stellar career that featured three Super Bowl appearances and two championships.

The announcement came 15 days after the Cowboys' season ended with a heartbreaking playoff loss in Seattle. He'd been at his office nearly every day since, and there were other indications that the 65-year-old coach was returning for a fifth year in Dallas and 20th as an NFL head coach.

"I am in good health and feel lucky to have been able to coach in the NFL for an extended period of time," he said in a statement. "I leave the game and the NFL with nothing but good feelings and gratitude to all the players, coaches and other people that have assisted me in that regard."

It's about time. Parcells is a shell of his former self.

And he's starting to look a lot like Mrs. Doubtfire.

I predicted if Parcells lost that game then he would leave Dallas. At the time I said "he would return to coach the GIANTS" and everyone here said I was nuts and he's staying in Big D.
So far I'm 1/2 right on this one and waiting to see where he lands after the dust settles.

How come you guy's never dig up all the predictions I get correct and dwell on the 1 time I hit the wrong key?

 There are other times you were wrong, but I don't have the time to find them. Plus, there isn't a such thing as being "1/2 right" :P

Parcells is done for good. My prediction ... TO leaves Dallas or gets very vocal with the new coach.
