that new pavement plus the new bridge in woodstock took the entire summer and alot of money.

i've heard some rumors that you can expect bridgewater->woodstock next summer.

Nice new stretch of pavement from Chester to Ludlow too.

Is it me, or is there something wrong when the most exciting thing going on this year is pavement?

Yep, the new pavement on parts of the Vail road and the bus route through the middle of upper Snowshed parking are things of beauty.

paving, so cool... even easier now to go 35+ mph and get a ticket.

mm, we'll still manage to have some fun up there this year I'm sure.....

there was a serious accident today in queeche - had to go back and and on the other side of the river. not sure if a better pavement would prevent it but that part of the road is pretty bumpy. I did not see where they went down but saw 3 ambulances and staties flying on 89 south and rt 4

yes! i prefer the midweek laid back thing and it is fun.... as long as snowmaking is decent, i'll be happy... I'll remain optimistic (for snowmaking/grooming)

I would LOVE to have the rest of rt4 paved from Bridgewater into Woodstock Village, as this is where I live, and frequently drive, But i'd much rather see the funding for that go to fixing and replacing the bridge on 100a! That entire situation is downright ridiculous, it is projected to be dealt with in another 7-10 years... Yet the temporary bridge they finally set up, (which has been set up for over a year) after the old bridge was limited to only 12 tons for a year or two, is just that a Temporary bridge, not a replacement for over a decade. Having a 1 lane bridge setup for all that live down there, or people such as myself that frequent that area, is crazy for over 12 years, just waiting for funding, and waiting for "our turn".

Also, the entire stretch that got new pavement, got new guard rails! They did a lot of ditch and draining work as well, and cleaned up a large rock slide too.

We've had construction zones on rt4 the entire summer, sometimes 3 or more different construction zones set up a day, but they have transformed the road into a job well done!

Don't feel bad, at least they finished. Rt 100 south of Ludlow has been under construction since June and is still not finished.

Since the completion on the new paving the cops are having a field day writing tickets. The new road is easy to drive at 70 and people are driving it at that speed. The sheriffs dept and the staties are making their quota in the first couple of days in a month.
