Went to Pico today for all that fresh Pow!! skied from 9 till 11:15. No Little Pico Triple as was scheduled to open, they opened Knomes Knoll Triple instead, changed on the lift report now too... More fresh when the Outpost and Little Pico triple open this weekend! (If they do open the Outpost again for this wknd.)

Everyone else had the same idea, and thats what everyone was talking about... "looks like everyone else had the same idea as us"... There were people like me who hadn't skied Pico in a couple years, others that hadn't been here for 10 years.

Anywho, I dont have a good grasp on trail names, and I might not be able to tell from the pic anyway, so. . .

I was pretty cold to begin, mostly my hands cus there out of my gloves a lot, but then I was all fine after 10:30...

I may go to K later for the last hour or two...

And oh yeah: Todays the first day this season that K has been fully open!! Potentially bad weather early next week and midweek, so this weekend is the time to get here, could be the best weekend of the season!!!!!!!!!

So glad I did not come up today -- I would have been mighty pissed had I driven 3 hours to get there and little pico lift was not open.

First, let me just report that K is making snow on Superstar headwall along with the area where the glacier is usually built up . . . we got to the Superstar area around 2:30 pm and they were just starting the guns . . . also had a gun running where the bumps form on skiers left on lower Superstar and guns were set up on the remainder of the trail . . . also making snow on lower Dream Maker above the pipe . . .

Skiing was good - bluebird skies, a little cold, but no wind . . . run of the day was definitely Superstar - but maybe that is because of the late guns. There truly is a ton of snow all over the mountains . . . and the woods look incredible . . . Bear getting ready for a competition this weekend . . . Needles nice . . . took a run down an ungroomed Home Stretch (closed yesterday) - tracked out, but still fun . . . looks to be a great weekend 8)

Some work first thing and then met a friend at the bottom of the Skyeship.
We skied trees around Bear and Skye all morning.
Still plenty of fresh in G, between the Great Eastern switchbacks and in many other areas that my bud showed me.

Home for some more work and then out after lunch with the Elementary school.
Had some fun in the park.
Most of the kids were doing the rainbow box and hitting the jumps.
Some even ventured into the trees.
It was inspiring!

Uh, not likely. We slayed it all day long. Maybe if Friday nights snow pans out you'll get a few inches on top.

looks like some prodigious snowmaking for a place with "layed off snowmakers and no rent-a-compressors".
