4/23 more sugarbush gnar...

Post by johnny the jibber »

got there around the same time as yesterday, a bit quieter there than yesterday. noticeable loss of snow from yesterday. again, rode most off the quad and a couple off the triple. good bumps up high, and smooth cream cheese down low. lots of ribbons to navigate, as they have to push snow around to keep things going. bumped into a bunch of K people again today, in slightly smaller numbers. may go back tomorrow, or may wait till friday, dont know yet. the legs are fried...

driving back up access rd i noticed some pretty substantial melting had taken place during the day today, there are a couple new spots on SS and a good sized spot on the flat past of bittersweet where it crosses high road. needles has begun to melt as well. some other spots as well, but i dont really remember...

I assume it's closer to 70 up there, but down in Central Mass we are pushing 80 right now.

Followed a car up from K...pulled in the parking lot and talked for a little while, kept running into them through out the day. Nice people skiing the hill. Seems like a great place to ski when it is all open. Great day, from opening till 2:45.

Seemed like more Killington regulars than Sugarbush pass holders today. Spent most of the afternoon on Ripcord and Organgrinder. Ripcord was more worn down than yesterday and the entrance and exit are getting thin. Organgrinder had quicker, side-to-side bumps, but didn’t seem as steep, so speed control wasn’t too much of a problem. A few bare spots are growing, but nothing unmanageable, though it is going fast.

"Radio Ron" out there again today, grunting away. I must say, that fellow sure has a positive attitude.

Saw 'Radio Ron' at Killington over the weekend and again at Sugarbush on Monday. Is he a regular Killington skier or does he only show up in the spring?
