memorial weekend '97 revisted ...

Post by skiadikt »

first of all kudos to the mtn for a great effort this season. for those who haven't seen it and want a trip down memory lane, here's my video paean to the legendary 96-97 season when they closed june 22 featuring footage from memorial weekend '97 intercut with memorial weekend '07. supe still edge to edge. i'm skiing skye lark which was still t-t-b and a nature run down double dip thrown in for good measure. still a ton of snow in "the light". guessing they made more snow that season and but also got a big assist from mama nature with cooler temps. my dirtadikt's looking pretty good on supe and dd after only her 4th season ...

wow, that is quite wild!
i was still on a ski sabbatical in '97, my first late spring was '03. by may 25
that year SS was still decent - compared to say, today :0( but that '97 footage is ridiculous.
great to see full trails and chairs so late.
thanks for sharing.

Very nice video. Thanks.

Was that the year they were open until June 21st?

Can't remember if that was the year I skied Fathers day June 14th?

Golfed, Skied, Mtn Biked(lift accessed), broke collar bone.

Epic day.

You may have a little more gray going now but your style remains unchanged.

Can't believe all that snow so late in June in 1997. Of course, it had to be a great year since I was pregnant with Iceman and could not ski at all.

I'm too old to do it again but I'm sure you younger guys can get the deed accomplished with your young wives.
