Re: Anybody heading to South America?
Might be the best option now as North American lift served options are dwindling quick!!
I just got back this AM from picking my daughter up from 10 days of race camp out at Mount Hood - they're melting out rapidly from a snowpack that started off well below normal!! Yesterday even you had to take your skis off to load from the mid station of the Palmer lift, and the runout down to Timberline Lodge melted out weeks ago! (By contrast a year ago when I picked my daughter up at this same time, there were still FEET of base all the way down to Timberline Lodge!!)
The heat wave out in the PNW the last few weeks did damage!! One of my daughters coaches said by his account they lost 10 feet of base in the 10 days my daughter was on the hill training, and she told me that there were some Canadian teams who moved from Whistler down to Hood because the snow at Hood was better!!
Timberline Lodge ski area, which in many years can ski lift served year round has already announced that they're closing in 2 weeks
Head to the Southern Hemisphere!!

My brothers and I headed down to Chile last summer for a week (Nevados de Chillan). It dumped a couple days before we got down there so we had a good one or two days of fresh. It did warm up significantly throughout the rest of the trip though but I wasn't complaining - I was riding in August. So much fun.
