Covered bridge coming to access road

Post by Mister Moose »

on the sidewalk. Across from Dean Hill Rd, just above Casey's.

Morrison said the project would cost roughly $30,000, and be paid for by the Killington Pico Area Association’s Beautification Committee. As of Friday, Jan. 15, the project had been fully funded, she added.

The completed bridge should be done before summer, Morrison said.

“Construction will begin in the coming months with an opening day before Memorial Day Weekend,” she wrote. “Roaring Brook Constructors was awarded the bid for the project by the KPAA.”

I'd rather put the $30,000 towards a LIFT at South Ridge ! The covered bridge is also going to be a full time job to maintain, clean and paint ! I can see the graffiti all over the side now just like some jerk spray painted the rocks under the SkyShip Express quad. Hopefully Mountain operations grind that off the stone before it gets to be an epidemic !

I think a new lift is a *little* outside the purview of the area beautification committee...

What are these people doing on the sidewalk vs. the shoulder on the other side of the road? Totally unrealistic rendering.

Don't covered bridges usually go over rivers or streams?

This makes no sense.

Was thinking the same thing....where is the water to require the bridge?

It's not a bridge for reasons stated. It's a poorly designed shed. The women are going to the shed, but nothing's in there. :|

At least Stowe's covered pedestrian bridge goes over water. As a matter of fact I think they just rebuilt both the roadway & pedestrian bridge this past summer.

Maybe it's just an overdesigned bus stop?

Yeah ... those taggers should concentrate on getting a new coat of paint on Snoopy

Roaring Brook Constructors must have incriminating photographs of KPAA officials.
At least this kooky bridge will be viewable from the Fire Dept.
That may keep the thing from being vandalized.

Covered bridges are often built on land and then a team of oxen pulls it over the river. That is clearly what's happening here. My guess is this is going up near Pico Pond and is a vital part of the interconnect.
