Conditions Report - WTF
The conditions report this morning recommended skiers head to Outer Limits first thing to enjoy the freshly groomed slope. My wife headed straight down from the peak first run to enjoy a groomed OL run. It was an early April Fool's joke by someone on the staff. Wife cursed Killington the whole way down the slope. Says she was lucky as she can ski the ugly icy bumps but the were other skiers that were quite stuck. Folks can over terrain themselves here easy enough without any help. Bad info on the conditions report just makes things worse.

Saw that about the groomed ol this morning, it's since been removed, guess it was fake news and eventually the fact checkers caught up.
Re: Conditions Report - WTF
Yep, saw that line in the conditions report so took a look at the Bear Cam. Ooops not so much. Sent an IM to the team and they changed it. A bit too late for the early birds.
Re: Conditions Report - WTF
That's disappointing, especially for first run/no warmup...look on the bright side GIS, my (now ex) wife would have been cursing me instead of the mountain, so you got off easy! Enjoy the day.
Re: Conditions Report - WTF
Grooming plan from the evening before vs what actually gets groomed can be 2 different things, and sometimes with accompanying communication breakdowns...

I did the same exact thing Saturday 2nd run - expected it to be groomed......Guy in Shorts wrote:The conditions report this morning recommended skiers head to Outer Limits first thing to enjoy the freshly groomed slope. I got lucky - the skiing was pretty good right over the hoses - I think a certain female active on this board was not happy I was under the chair.........

Re: Conditions Report - WTF
While riding the bear chair on Sunday I saw to guys attempting to walk down carrying their skis under the chair. I told them it's easier with the skis on their feet. I don't think they appreciated my comment. In their defense, OL looked to be in rough shape.hillbangin wrote:I did the same exact thing Saturday 2nd run - expected it to be groomed......Guy in Shorts wrote:The conditions report this morning recommended skiers head to Outer Limits first thing to enjoy the freshly groomed slope. Re: Conditions Report - WTF
yup we were prepared to head over there at the open as well but were updated by someone who drove by bear this morning. also though the conditions said groomed and even recommended going there first thing, the lift & trails report had it ungroomed.

Re: Conditions Report - WTF
I was crushed when I read the report this morning and saw OUTER LIMITS was groomed.....I was thrilled to see it ungroomed....the info threw us all off...MOGULS and OUTER LIMITS FOREVER !!!!!
Re: Conditions Report - WTF
Those folks stuck on the supposedly groomed OL got off easy. Just think about all those poor souls who tried to ski that groomed Devils Fiddle in the report 2 weeks ago!
Re: Conditions Report - WTF
So I get a bunch of crap about complaining about the Vertigo Ice Cone yet you find it worthy to complain about a trail being ungroomed? Whaaaa!!!
PS: bruceol, we get it... You like bumps on OL. Let me introduce you to DES. He likes Cannon.

They do like to groom the bumps flat before a big storm to wipe the canvas clean.

I was expecting a comment in here sooner or later from bruceol! And I love OL also (and would like to see less grooming...not only on OL but also on Zoomer at Cannon!) but with no black-out pass at K, they didn't want me as a season passholder anymore. I don't think anyone was complaining it was ungroomed, I believe the disappointment was that it was promoted as groomed, which brought people there that wouldn't have gone for their first run on it (unlike bruceol or myself!).
