Got out a little later than opening bell and found great snow where the snow guns were and some of the other runs had some chunkey monkey on them. The crew I was with decided to do Fis instead of Downdraft the only time we took the K1. The rest of the time was laps on the North Ridge runs - my favorite there was Upper East Fall. Guns were going on East Fall too but it was still closed when I was in the area.
At Snowdon did laps on those runs too and my favorite was Mousetrap under the guns. They were also making snow in the Mixing Bowl area and on the trail below Middle Chute that was not open last year but they may open this year for beginner customers.

My chemo treatment got postponed because they want me to take a Covid test before since I was out of town for the holiday weekend. The Covid test is scheduled for Friday and my next treatment will occur on Monday if the test comes back negative.Bubba wrote: ↑Dec 2nd, '20, 15:55I thought you were heading home yesterday.tyrolean_skier wrote: ↑Dec 2nd, '20, 14:56 Got out a little later than opening bell and found great snow where the snow guns were and some of the other runs had some chunkey monkey on them. You didn’t know that before you decided to come up? Health first; everything else (including skiing) follows.

Re: Wednesday 12/2/20 report
I was out most of the day, conditions were good but seemed to deteriorate, which did not jive with the amount of snowmaking and falling. Upper East Fall was definitely ROTD early on. Down by the mixing bowl there was a wide variety of chunky, granular, and a few icy spots. DD Headwall was okay but also deteriorated.
They are still not utilizing that tunnel/bridge higher up at the intersection of bunny buster and great eastern. I guess it's because of the work it takes to make snow in the tunnel. Without the tunnel that intersection is pretty sketchy since it's tough to see people coming down while crossing. I hope they resolve that soon.
Having just the lodge open for food (and no bars) is a bummer, and another reason to hope for a quick expansion to other base areas. I heard a green jacket suggest they would be working on ramshead next.
Weirdly the mountain seemed to get much more crowded in the afternoon. Overall a decent day but not as good as anticipated with the new snow.

Re: Wednesday 12/2/20 report
Afternoon Report: Way better than I was expecting. Large temp difference w.r.t. elevation. Summit was showing <10 DegF on the thermometer [didn't think it was that cold?] and right near freezing at the parking lot. Got a few snow squalls late in the day that helped things out a bit. And visibility was pretty good considering the snow and low light angle.
ROTD: Mouse Trap. Some decent snow / bumps on several lines down it with a bit of ice showing. Much better cover at the bottom than the days before.
Runner Up: Left side moguls on U/L Rime. Starting to fill in a bit with the new snow.
Thanx to the early birds for pushing most of the chunky monkey off to the sides [although I generally like to ski the sides]. I didn't find this too bad. NOTE: Due to the temps, and when the r*ins turned over to snow, a lot better up high in general.
Downdraft HW was pretty good, especially late in the day on the flatter section with some fresh tate in the troughs.
Overally, everything was pretty good, especially when considering the recent weather.
