Re: Branding, Strategy and Vision

I guess the point is that you don't agree w/ "the vision" but you can't deny that there is a vision...which in and of itself is great I have been skiing Pico for about 10 years and have never seen it as busy as it has been this year...don't know if they are making any money, lift tickets a...

Re: When You're A Liar Who Always Believes The Worst...

yeah right....but having smoked my fair share of dope...and probably having a lot in common w/ oliver stone... I think these guys (limbaugh, beck and the rest) are a unique phenomena in our country, they probably would never get a foothold in a different era apparently mccarthyism died out as prospe...

Re: When You're A Liar Who Always Believes The Worst...

Hey JG, let's say I agree w/ you (I think ? i.e. limbaugh, hannity et al, are best case: comedic satirists, worst case: fascists)...but...their getting advertising dollars and they have a forum, no laws against this...what's the problem ? how do you deal w/ "intentional" bias , limbaugh do...

Re: Obama and Fox News

I would prefer the Obama administration stayed above it...and didn't engage fox news at all, I think it gives them some degree of legitimacy they don't deserve that said, I don't know what you do about fox news if they are having an impact, fox's lineup goes after the fear factor and plays it up ......

Re: Rutland herald

agree w/ Jimbolla the town went to war w/ powdr from pretty much day 1 (in retrospect...although some on this board would disagree) apparently the town council has a thin skin and were somewhat offended by KSRP...so instead of working on relationship building they decided to make a power play and sh...

Re: Killington Option Tax

Has killington ever had summer concert series or festival (folk, bluegrass, chamber, rock, blues etc) ? Have they ever had summer theatre (outdoors) ? It seems like they have several natural ampitheaters (e.g. Pico base area) for outdoor events I don't know why we need 2 economic development entitie...

Re: Can Any Killington Locals Explain This Mess To Me?

I'm pretty confused too...the article seems like it was written in about 5 min The way I read it Norm H. stepped out he wasn't voted out, and Chris Bianchi was voted in I wonder if the 550K option tax money includes the 33% that goes to the state ? if the 550K is administered by the EDTC what is the...

Re: No Snowshed/Bear Crossover...what's next???

for me the changes are probably a good thing...and partially explain why I prefer the terrain and riding experience off the summit quad at Pico (long trails and simplicity) maybe this is part of their longer term plan to improve the experience across the mountain, complete the interconnect etc. I al...

we love mt snow, and usually go there 2-3X/ season I've always liked the vibe at Mt Snow, they do a great job w/ keeping things upbeat...they seem to have a sense of humor, something K could definetly embrace however, this year we went there mid-week after a weekend at Pico. My daughter having just ...

Tax is really on the users, not the businesses. If the businesses choose not to pass it along to customers, that's their call... This is the type of tax that appears along w/ a long list of other taxes on your hotel bill... yeah right...its not on businesses...it just gets passed along...thats bs, ...

KSRP ain't doing crapola with the village. They operate the ski resort. The Texas money boys, E2M and their wholly owned subsidiary SP Land, control the real estate where the village is going to be built. The Park City boys have a small interest in the project but it ain't their development and it ...

bubbs, the KEGI report indicted the tax had been discussed, that's true, but there was little or no real plan, infact the report was just a recap of ideas the team had come up w/ at that point dec07 since there were no details, i think passing the tax was clever politically since they were exploitin...

FWIW...I took bubby's advice and looked for info on the tax, did not find any specific numbers, I did find a report from "Killington's economic growth initiative" dated dec 2007, describing goals and the option tax in very preliminary terms basically they want to hire an event's director t...
