Re: Urea - We have a winner
seeing their facebook video makes me less optimistic. that first break after the section below launchpad is quite significant - almost 2 lift towers of terrain. not sure where they get that snow from. the next is short and possibly can be "bridged". then there's section by the mid-o exit, ...

monday memorial day 5/27 report
first wanna remember those made the ultimate sacrifice this memorial day. thank you ... if today was the fat lady's final song, certainly went out on a low note. very unpretty out there today. the mtn was hidden by a heavy veil of fog most of the day with some dripping later. once again the groomers...

Re: Urea - We have a winner
no matter when we ultimately close, the mtn has done an amazing job nurturing supe through the spring. overall snow depth "seemed" lower than last season, yet somehow it's memorial day and we're skiing a continuous trail every morning that other than the HW makes it through every day. they...

Re: Sunday May 26th
another sunstroke day out there. they did another comb over on the headwall and applied the urea. didn't groom full width in some places and left the bumps including the lower left lines. like yesterday at the bell the 1st 3 or 4 turns on the hw were very firm. nice & soft from there on down wit...

Re: Sat may 25th.
indeed a fantastic day. sunshine was in full control until the last hour when some clouds rolled in. the mtn did another terrific job grooming. whatever they used on the headwall, it did a great job. it was actually rather firm at least the first couple hours and held up quite well. took a lot longe...

Re: State of Superstar May 11, 2024
obviously necessary but now that they've begun the comb over process, this speeds up the end. the HW and other patched areas will break within a couple hrs. that's not to say there won't be some good bump skiing in between but they'll be more work involved and edges to be ruined. will be interesting...

Re: world cup returns in 2024
Cool, I guess, and not surprising... seems as if it is here to stay. I'll probably end up going, although it is starting to get a little 'long in the tooth" (at least for me). Kind of the same every year. I still would prefer it move to some sort of every other year type of schedule, but I don...

Re: State of Superstar May 11, 2024
amazed by the break on the HW. that break on the lower left bumpline was just dirt in one trough this weekend. it'll be all the way across by friday and require some fixing. see 2 other breakpoints in upper middle.
with this weather shouldn't be surprised but nonetheless i am.

Re: State of Superstar May 11, 2024
Interesting so what was it 1997 that was super deep into June? yes they went til june 22 in 1997 which was "probably" the greatest season ever at killington. interestingly that was the 1st season of asc ownership, so they came in w guns blazing before they crashed & burned. i've attac...

back on topic, a case in point is 2021. here's a pic GIS took on friday 5/14/2021. supe looking pretty good. similar to how it looked yesterday. supe fri.jpg and here's the monday, just 3 days later. supe.png when we left that sunday, we were all pretty sure we'd be skiing the following weekend. as ...

Re: State of Superstar May 11, 2024
Sorry I missed the late Sun on Sunday. Earlier flat light/ yellow snow and lots of traffic made for difficult "line shopping". now i don't feel so bad. when i went out for my second round late morning, was glad to escape w my life for the reasons you mentioned :D . when i went back out fo...

Re: sunday 5/19 report
another winner in the books. a fine day. started and ended w sunshine. for me sunshine is the key. the usual 1st couple creamy runs on the groom before moving into the bumps. once again the morning bumps were magnificent. soft and corny but starting out bigger than friday's. went out for a mid-day ...
