Re: Lange boots
Just switched to Lange from Kryptons due to exremely narrow and low volume feet which were swimming in the Kryptons (even with a 98 mm last). The Langes were the only boot narrow enough for me that had a flex for almost mere mortals-- I had to go with the World Cup 160 in a 92 mm last-- am hoping th...

Thanks for recs
Thanks to all who gave me ski, boot and child clothes recs. Had the family (sans wife) out on the local hill Sunday-- me, enjoying first time out in many many years on new short shaped skis (Rx 6's- at 170-- probably too soft if I get serious again-- but quite fun at low to moderate speeds), I spent...

Kid's Cothes
As we continue to deplete the college fund.. any of you with kids (5-6) have ideas on: (1) materials (thinsulate v. down or fleece, goretex v. nylon, etc); and (2) bibs or no on pants ( I would think bibs would keep the snow out but be a pain in the bathroom). Would plain ski pant and long parka wor...
I was just at Alpine Haus last weekend, and Ski Market in Avon (Dave). Also heard good things, at least price wise, from bob's in Bristol. If the guy at Alpine Haus is good, I will go with them, unless someone has also had good experiences with Dave at Ski Market or anyone at Bob's? Thanks again b-5...
Thanks to all who responded. I am not going to order the boots on line as I did the skis, but will go by fit with someone who hopefully knows that they are doing. If there is no one local, I will go north. for b-5-- I do have some foot issues due to old accident, but Ithink it just affects the cant-...
Boot Recs
While admittedly not wise without a demo, I pulled the trigger on Fischer RX 6 (06-07) at 170 based upon sale price, purported demo availability from local shops and numerous reviews at epic ski and other sites noting ski relatively agile at slower speeds (for skiing with kids) and still has some pe...

The kids are dead beginner skiers- but are 5 and 6 and have extensive ice skating experience (skate/hockey lessons, etc), so I am hoping they will be able to progress fairly quickly. I have never even seen snowblades-- are they relatively cheap-- as in, will I be able to buy them along with the new ...

Will be skiing at Sundown, due to proximity. As to getting skis up to speed.. I sense I will be spending at least an hour or two a day skiing very slowly with the rugrats. I don't want a ski that is going to be too burdensome for those hours. As I have never tried the new shaped skis, I may be worry...

Suggestions for ski
Hi all. Past lurker. Anyway, was an avid and advanced skier many years ago-- haven't been out regulalry in many (15) years. Just rented kids skis for the season (ages 5& 6) and will be joining them every sat at local hill in CT (maybe the odd weekend in VT in March). I will ski alone while they ...
