maybe a bit harsh on my part, but i can say it gets discouraging for her to see the same stereotype with the same accident situations over and over again.BigKahuna13 wrote:Under proper conditions, non-existent traffic, good weather, dry, straight road, vehicle and driver both well maintained, 90mph is perfectly safe.2knees wrote:My wife's floor at hartford hospital is filled right now with primarily 20-25 yr old males who were driving drunk.Off Piste wrote:Yeah - what he said...BLING! wrote:how bout this bill...stop drinking and driving...people die when some imature a-hole gets behind the wheel and thinks he/she is good enough to drive....TheRat wrote:Anyone know a real good DUI attorney in the Brattleboro area? or speeding like maniacs. both are beyond stupid in my opinion and certainly in the opinion of the doctors and nurses who have to wipe your @ss's for 3 weeks while they feed you with a tube and... well you get the point.
DUI, though, is a whole nother ballgame.
I also got nailed recently.Stormchaser wrote:I got nabbed in Brattleboro on the way up Friday night. Trooper was unexpectedly nice. Blew by him doing 95 in a 65. Pulled me over and said lazer had me at 97.
He came back from his car after taking my license and registration, and handed me a ticket for $79.00. Thats right, $79.00 - the smallest permissible fine he can issue. Says he saved me $375 and a night in the slammer.
I said, "Thank you."
I did a search in Yahoo for DUI attorneys in the Brattleboro area and you can see the results at this link:TheRat wrote:Thought I might be able to get a little help here, but I guess I was wrong. By the way, it's not for me but for an acquaintance from out of state. I agree completely with the irresponsibility of DUI. I too have seen the results and heartache. On the other hand, I've also seen the results of aggressive cops with little to do who sit outside popular establishments, stop people who have had one or two beers, trump up charges, and help fill the local coffers. People lose licenses, jobs, face enormous surcharges, and have lives ruined needlessly. Sure, this doesn't resonate with anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, but it's reality. In California a whole industry has evolved to deal with uncalled for DUI arrests. The bottom line is don't drive after drinking, but don't trust cops either.
Young un,you need to see some of the crashes on places like the Autoban or highways of places like China or Japan. Yeah, they go fast. They do NOT have the safety devices in the cars we have. They DIE real BAD. Nothing like a BMW, Mercedes or Nisan crumpled up at 135 or better. Don't matter what nation they is in, but at that speed, the result is the same, except, here they might survive. Quadraplegic, but survive.mogulmouse wrote:no kidding 90 is safe if the conditions are.... cars go WAY fasterthen that on the autobahn - conditions are safer..... ( no one creeps in the PASSING lane!).
How did he save you a night in the slammer, you can get thrown in jail for going 30 some odd miles an hour over the speed limit----- gawd that SUCKS. you can tear up the highways like mad max if you want in california - and you're only going to get a ticket, heh heh. I cant imagine driving from here to tahoe if i couldnt do it at 80mph+ , i guess thats one way california spoils you. I do 90 everymorning for the last couple months just getting to work...its about a 5 mile stretch down the highway.....
Last halloween comming back from boreal we were consistantly hitting 100 in a Durango untill we hit atleast sacto.
In california you can drive 95mph all day long, and somebodys always going faster then you
Dont know how fast my pig moves... needle drops off after 100. I've only done that a hand full of times anyways though.... 1971 Blazers arent ment for those speeds
I have to agree. I have friends who were busted on the access road after a couple of drinks by cops who tailgated them or just made up an excuse to stop them. If they just busted agressive drivers regardless of blood alcohol content the roads would be safer. You wouldn't beleive what I see very morning driving to work in NJ. BTW I get a ride home from the barsTheRat wrote:Thought I might be able to get a little help here, but I guess I was wrong. By the way, it's not for me but for an acquaintance from out of state.
